As they work towards\r\nthis goal, Archivists have become masters of\r\nstoring knowledge and creating artificial\r\nintelligences fueled by magic. [\/i]If you craft a magic item in the scroll\r\ncategory, it takes you a quarter of the normal\r\ntime, and it costs you half as much of the usual\r\ngold.\r\n\r\nArtificial Mind\r\nAt 3rd level, you discover how to awaken a mind\r\ninside an object. Whenever you finish a long rest\r\nand your calligrapher\u2019s supplies are with you,\r\nyou can magically rouse a keen mind within a\r\nTiny, nonmagical object on which you write\r\nmystical symbols. The object is a magic item\r\nwhile the mind is inside it, and you can use it as a\r\nspellcasting focus. If you already have an\r\nartificial mind from this feature, the first one\r\nimmediately dissipates.\r\nThe magic item has the following properties...\r\n[i][b]Telepathic Advisor.[\/b][\/i] The artificial mind\r\ntelepathically supplies you with advice and\r\ninformation about certain topics: while the item\r\nis on your person, you have proficiency in two\r\nskills of your choice; the item\u2019s main material\r\ndetermines which skills you can choose from, as\r\nshown on the Artificial Mind table in the Skill\r\nProficiencies column, for the nature of the object\r\naffects the mind\u2019s knowledge.\r\n[i][b]Manifest Mind.[\/b][\/i] As a bonus action while the\r\nitem is on your person, you can cause the mind\r\nto manifest as a Tiny spectral presence, hovering\r\nin an unoccupied space of your choice within 60\r\nfeet of you. This presence is intangible and\r\ninvulnerable, and it sheds dim light in a 10-foot\r\nradius. You determine its appearance; the\r\nArtificial Mind table offers suggested\r\nappearances based on the object\u2019s main material.\r\nWhile manifested, the spectral mind can hear\r\nand see, and it has darkvision with a range of 60\r\nfeet. As an action, you can hear and see using the\r\nmind\u2019s senses, instead of your own, until your\r\nconcentration ends (as if concentrating on a\r\nspell).\r\nAs a bonus action, you can cause the spectral\r\nmind to hover up to 30 feet to an unoccupied\r\nspace that you or it can see. It can pass through\r\ncreatures but not objects. The spectral mind\r\nstops manifesting if it is ever more than 300 feet\r\naway from its magic item or if you dismiss it as a\r\nbonus action.\r\nWhen you cast an artificer spell on your turn,\r\nyou can cast it as if you were in the spectral\r\nmind\u2019s space, instead of your own, using its\r\nsenses. You can do so a number of times per day\r\nequal to your Intelligence modifier (at least\r\nonce), and you regain all expended uses when\r\nyou finish a long rest.\r\n[b][i]Information Overload.[\/i][\/b] As an action while the\r\nitem is on your person, you can try to magically\r\noverload the thoughts of one creature you or the\r\nmind can see that is within 5 feet of the\r\nmanifested mind, channeling a jumble of\r\ninformation from the artificial mind. Unless the\r\ntarget succeeds on an Intelligence saving throw\r\nagainst your spell save DC, the target takes 1d8\r\npsychic damage, and the next attack roll against\r\nit before the end of your next turn has\r\nadvantage, since it is temporarily too distracted\r\nto defend itself well. The damage increases by\u00a01d8 when you reach 5th level (2d8), 11th level\r\n(3d8), and 17th level (4d8) in this class.\r\nWhenever you deal damage with this feature,\r\nyou can expend a spell slot to deal extra damage\r\nto the target. That person can also communicate\r\ntelepathically with you as long as they have the\r\nitem. This two-way communication can even\r\ncross planar boundaries.\r\n[i][b]Psychic Damage.[\/b][\/i] When you make a psychic\r\ndamage roll for an artificer spell or for\r\nInformation Overload, you gain a bonus to the\r\ndamage roll equal to your Intelligence modifier\r\n(minimum bonus of +1).\r\n\r\n[b][h1]Pure Information[\/h1]\r\n[\/b]\r\nAt 14th level, your Artificial Mind is able to\r\nreceive and transmit more information than ever\r\nbefore.\r\n[i][b]Mind Overload.[\/b][\/i] When you expend a spell slot\r\nto increase the damage of Information Overload,\r\nthe target must succeed on an Intelligence saving\r\nthrow against your spell save DC or be stunned\r\nuntil the end of your next turn.\r\n[b][i]Infoportation.[\/i][\/b] As an action while your\r\nArtificial Mind magic item is on your person, you\r\ncause the mind to turn you into pure\r\ninformation, teleporting you to the unoccupied\r\nspace nearest to the spectral mind or to an item\r\nbearing one of your artificer infusions, where\r\nyou physically reappear.\r\nYou can teleport in this way once for free and\r\nmust finish a long rest before doing so again.
