Weapon
Legendary Ritual of Innocent Blood
Shape of Destruction:
The Blade of Calamity can morph into any bladed weapon at the command of its wielder. As a bonus action, you can transform the weapon into a dagger, shortsword, longsword, greatsword, glaive, scimitar, rapier, or any other bladed weapon. This transformation does not alter the weapon's magical properties or sentience.
Sentience:
The Blade of Calamity is a chaotic evil sentient weapon with an Intelligence of 14, Wisdom of 16, and Charisma of 18. It has darkvision (120 feet) and can communicate telepathically with its wielder. It speaks in a cruel, whispering voice that echoes with the cries of the slain. It constantly urges its wielder toward violence, betrayal, and destruction, often encouraging them to commit violence against innocents or allies.
Thirst for Blood:
The blade craves the blood of the living. When you hit a creature with an attack, the blade deals an additional 3d8 necrotic damage. If this attack reduces the creature to 0 hit points, the blade absorbs its blood, granting the wielder temporary hit points equal to half the necrotic damage dealt. The victim’s corpse is left pale, shriveled, and bloodless.
Transforming Power:
As a bonus action, you may command the blade to change into any bladed weapon you desire. The transformation is instant and silent. The weapon can become a dagger, glaive, longsword, greatsword, or any other bladed weapon. Its weight, size, and properties adjust to reflect the form it takes.
Bloodletting Fury:
When the wielder's hit points fall below 50% of their maximum HP, the Blade of Calamity grants them advantage on attack rolls and increases its necrotic damage to 4d8.
Blood Sacrifice:
Once per long rest, the wielder may channel the blade's dark energy to perform a Blood Sacrifice. As an action, the wielder takes 10 points of unmitigable necrotic damage. The next attack made with the blade gains advantage and deals an additional 6d8 necrotic damage. If this attack reduces a creature to 0 hit points, the wielder can make an additional attack as part of the same action.
Aura of Despair:
The Blade of Calamity radiates an aura of despair within a 30-foot radius. Creatures hostile to the wielder that start their turn within this area must succeed on a DC 20 Wisdom saving throw or be frightened for 1 minute. While frightened, creatures see glimpses of their own deaths reflected in the glint of the blade. The aura cannot be deactivated. Creatures that succeed on this saving throw become immune to its effects for 24 hours.
Enhanced Properties (Post-Attunement)
Warborn Might: While attuned, the wielder’s Strength and Constitution scores increase by 4, up to a maximum of 24. They also have advantage on Strength-based ability checks and saving throws.
Blood Tide:
Each time the wielder reduces a creature to 0 hit points with the blade, they gain an additional action this turn. This ability can be used once per turn.
Calamity Unleashed:
The wielder can use their action to activate the Calamity Unleashed effect. For 1 minute, the following effects occur:
- Necrotic damage increases to 6d8.
- Each time you reduce a creature to 0 hit points, all hostile creatures within 30 feet must make a DC 20 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute.
- The blade deals double damage against objects, barriers, and constructs.
- At the end of the minute, the wielder must make a DC 20 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, they take 8d10 psychic damage as the blade siphons part of their life force.
Special Ability - Cataclysm's Call
Once per week, the wielder may summon the full destructive might of the Blade of Calamity. As an action, they invoke the Call of Cataclysm, causing the following effects in a 60-foot radius around them:
- All hostile creatures within this radius must make a DC 22 Constitution saving throw or take 10d10 necrotic damage and become blinded for 1 minute.
- All structures, objects, and magical barriers within the radius take double damage from attacks made by the wielder for 1 minute.
- The wielder enters a state of unstoppable fury, gaining advantage on all attack rolls, immunity to psychic damage, and resistance to all other damage for 1 minute.
- When the effect ends, the wielder must make a DC 22 Constitution saving throw or take 10d10 psychic damage and gain 1 level of exhaustion.
Curses
Insatiable Bloodlust:
The Blade of Calamity demands blood. If the wielder goes more than 24 hours without spilling the blood of a sentient creature, the blade’s whispers become deafening. The wielder takes 4d8 necrotic damage every hour until they offer fresh blood to the blade.
Voice of Violence:
The blade constantly urges the wielder toward violence, clouding their judgment. While attuned, the wielder has disadvantage on Wisdom saving throws to resist violent impulses. If the wielder spares an enemy, they must make a DC 20 Charisma saving throw or suffer 5d10 psychic damage and lose attunement to the blade.
The Blade of Calamity is the living embodiment of war, carnage, and unrelenting bloodshed. It is a gift of power from Eren, the God of War, Violence, and Bloodshed, a weapon that exists only to cause destruction. Its form is never fixed—shifting constantly between a shadowy, liquid-like sheen and solid metal, appearing as any bladed weapon its wielder desires. The whispers of the slain haunt its surface, their muted cries joining the sinister hum that resonates from the blade. As it feeds on blood, it grows stronger, drawing the wielder into an insatiable cycle of violence.
The blade's influence is insidious, coaxing even the purest of souls toward slaughter. The longer it is wielded, the more its wielder's moral compass tilts toward chaos and evil. No mortal can wield it without sacrifice, for the Blade of Calamity demands blood, and it always hungers for more.
