Silicon based lifeforms of a hardened crystalline figure, who emerge from the depths, arising from down-below to explore the overworld.

All Shardminds are a physical fracture that separated from the grand astral gate beneath the surface of the Eard-Hnecca mountain range, which was destroyed in 987CE during the great war against Yuan (c.985CE-1000CE).

Though new Shardmind are born from spawning agodes beneath the Mountain range, those born of the gate are generally - culturally - held to be wiser & more venerated than their younger kin.

  • Animated Constructs - You have the Construct creature type, furthermore, you do not need to drink, eat, sleep or breathe. You may choose to consume liquids & food if you would like, but have no requirements to do so & gain no benefits from doing so, aside from the taste. Due to having no requirement to sleep, you may spend a Long Rest guarding for 8 hours, however you will not gain benefits of the Long Rest if you spend all 8 hours doing active actions such as attuning to a magical item.
  • Commune with the Fleshkin - You have Telepathy up to 5ft., however, you must still share a common language with the target to be able to speak with them. If you do not, then you may attempt to relay a message via sending images to them telepathically in order to relay your intent. This, may work, but is dependent on them interpreting the images the same way.
  • Commune with the Mineralkin - Thrice per day, you may ask up to 5 yes or no questions to a rock or other mineral formation, it must answer you truthfully. However, it should be noted that this has no effect on Blackstone, and furthermore, generally will not be considered valid evidence in court.
  • Crystalline Mind - You reduce all inflicted psychic damage you receive by 5, to a minimum of 0. At 10th Level, this increases to a reduction of 10, to a minimum of 0.
Description:

Individuals of the Shardmind oft stand between 5'9" & 6'3", with little variance there upon. The tallest Shardmind to have ever lived in NĂ¡darrac's overland was considered freakishly tall - standing at 6'4". As for Shardmind who have only very recently emerged from the undergrounds, they tend to stand a might taller, between 6'-6'5" roughly. Eventually shrinking as they live more and more above the surface.
