The Summer Before the War
At the end of spring, Saruya and Quilleran meet as apparent enemies. Saruya returns to the site of their meeting with Bethara, her friend upon whom she relies closely and spends the majority of her time—but when Bethara is attacked by Sordid and hides in her apartment for months and Quilleran proves himself to be more complex than expected, Saruya's summer shapes up to be more different than any summer before.
This collection of semi-canonical (mostly smutty) oneshots takes place in the gap of time between Quilleran and Saruya's first meeting and the start of the Second Sordid War, as Saruya passes her time amid Bethara's absence and Quilleran grapples with his position among it all.
