❝ O’ False Idol.

If thou beest ye’, from what highth fall’n didst ye’ sing,

And what joyn’d ye’ upon victor?

Ov’ whom didst ye’ shon’ messianic light,

Be it beast, be it man?

Thus to birth in deth’,

Turn god to ash, and dust to man. ❞

Nearing the latter half of the conflict, some ten thousand years before the worlds collapsed – the desperation of the downtrodden was ever present as the Reshimu reigned their destructive power over most of the domains now, all but one. The last stronghold of the Aeonian’s was a small domain, one that would later be known as their homeland and the ruins could be seen in the Northern Continent of Modern Ishtaria. The name if this great city was Mekubal, renowned for its great pyramids and spires of ivory and gold.

Despite their numbers being so few compared to their foes, the Aeonians were a hearty lot, and were not ones to ever concede. They were seizing supplies and trade routes, poisoning rivers. They were powerful, and as the war continued it seemed that they were slowly gaining momentum and small victories in the war. To this end, it seemed that the Masach had managed to gain the aide of many of the smaller tribes and previously subjugated races under the Reshimu’s thumb.

But as for the Reshimu, they would not admit defeat and would act upon their misfortune with equal retribution. They will thwart the primitive tribes once and for all. As it was, there had been an ever-pressing problem that seemed to indiscriminately attack both sides and leave naught but ash in their wake – The dragons. So it would seem they decided to hit two birds with one stone.

Thus, the current leaders of the Reshimu had long since discussed breaking the sacred laws and employing the Tzachtzachot and neutral parties to turn the tides in their favour, as it was they were the only ones who had the power to subdue such great beasts. This was first met with much contention and outrage. Regardless of the outcries, the plans soon went ahead and the Reshimu took to seizing the holy lands as their new stronghold and taking the Tzachtzachot and their power for their own accord. It did lead them to discuss whether or not they should attempt to pursue the neutral races to aid them in their divine rights, and growing desperation to end the conflict.

And was ever there men so eager for their grace to beseech of them their violence?

Of course, it would seem that the only way that the Reshimu could gain this power was by nonother than the act of outright genocide. Trees would burn and lakes would boil as they rend the once holy lands to ash and dust. Perhaps, this was the very taste of the forbidden fruit that their god once tasted, now enacted by his children. But as for the Saplings, they were hunted and turned into nothing but living weapons to further the plots of their captors.

Many fled but were cut down, and the other races could only watch on in horror. Of course, much of these races, especially the Havaa did their best to fight back, whilst others swore their eternal loyalty to the Yosher, many of them being the Anpin. If only it had been known that those who posed such vilifying ideas were naught but incarnations of the discord that was saturated in the lands. It is unknown if it was the works of the Qliphot or merely of foolish men, but the already black skies would soon darken further.

And lo, upon the final lands of the free did the shroud of darkness encroach. Forked tongues of smoke and fire bellowed destruction upon the kingdom as sanguine wings and ivory fangs bore down upon the people. The once mighty fortress of the Masach was now under siege, as the monsters and devils of the land descended upon it. Panic soon ensued, only to be blooded as the once friendly tribes of beast they once fought alongside with rioted and carved their rage unto those who had fought to protect them. It was a night shone through with fire and fear, the only thing to choke out the thick smoke was the deep-seated chaos that ran free through the halls of ivory, feeling any man, woman or child before them.

The sacred laws had been broken, and every empire would soon fall come hell or high water.
