The Grabsnak

Most creatures in Drethildun have adapted many strange and powerful quirks necessary for survival in this war torn world. The Grabsnak are no exception.

These pale purple beasts have a rather pill shaped body with a long powerful tail and a great many arm-like appendages.

The tail, something akin to a purple whip, is often used to ensnare opponents and haul them towards itself where it will attempt to consume the victim. -Note- It has seemed that recent adaptations have seen more and more specimens with hook like ridges along the tails, similar to spikes. These seen to be of the same material as their scales but that it yet to be confirmed. More research is required- Halio.

The body itself seems rather simple at first glance, and the creature has a almost endearing look to it while in it's docile state, yet it's scales are something of a marvel indeed. The Grabsnak have an extremely malleable body, where it can alter the locations of inner and outer organs and appendages, this is often seen when it rapidly vibrates and the scales of the transforming location begin shimmering where they will then shit clockwise across the body, hence relocating body parts. This is done at such rapid speed that it can manoeuvre itself through tree lines at great speed, wrapping it's body across different branches and relocating it's "arms" for better reach and can also be used as a form of camouflage with the scales reflecting light in a near perfect manor.

It's mouth is something terrifying indeed - while grabbing a hold of it's prey, it will either try and kill the target itself, or send it away to it's young via it's stomach. It's mouth itself doesn't open a great distance, barely enough to swallow a human, however, when it attempts to swallow a target it's jaws will fold outwards upon themselves to create a much bigger opening. It's fangs themselves are serrated and deadly, but the real danger comes from being swallowed, upon entering it's stomach the victim will disappear from sight and be sent to another plane, the swap alone isn't the deadliest part as when transported in this way the targets brain seems to get struck by outer electrical impulses from one of the creatures organs and can render the prey paralysed as it plummets ~ 60ft towards the ground. It does not end there of course, as whatever is left of the target will be set upon by a nest of it's young. -Note- This method has been exploited with tamed creatures under Telarus control with Astromancers waiting with the young in many cases - Halio.

The Grabnak themselves seem to be rather docile creatures to humans and far prefer other, wild prey, even going as far as to occasionally being used as pest control by some farmers. I have even seem some noble families such as the great Zannathil's showing them off as pets. Note This is shown firsthand from their ability to be used as assassins, exploiting their hunting method of restraining a single target and scampering away to feed to it's young, useful indeed.
