When you are about to take Lightning damage from any type of source, the magic of the charm is automatically activated. When this happens, you become resistant to Lightning damage for one minute. After the paper charm has been activated, it destroys itself in by emitting a sharp whistling sound and shredding itself into tiny little strands of paper.
