After you cast a spell from a spell scroll that is of a higher level than you can normally cast, you can activate the charm as part of using the spell scroll. When doing so, you make the ability check to determine whether you the cast the spell from the scroll successfully with advantage. After the paper charm has been activated it destroys itself in a harmless flurry of arcane glittering lights.
