Description.
This ragged but cozy scarf is more than it appears. In truth, it is a juvenile mimic, an intelligent shapechanger, it poses as an ordinary scarf, silently observing.
Dormant State
When first found, the scarf behaves like a normal garment, except it occasionally shifts slightly when unwatched.
Detect Magic reveals a faint aura of transmutation.
Carnivorous hunger
Each long rest, it consumes one ration or any edible item within reach of the wearer’s pack. If it cannot find food for two days, it sneaks away to hunt.
Bonding with the Mimic
If treated kindly and worn frequently for 7 consecutive days, the mimic trusts the wearer and reveals its true nature. Upon accepting its companionship, you form an attunement bond and it gans the following properties.

Commanded Shapechange.
The mimic can assume the form of any Tiny, nonmagical object you name, such as a scarf, glove, belt, cup, or dagger. Changing shape takes 1 minute, and the mimic cannot imitate complex mechanisms or weapons beyond simple shapes.
Surprise Defense (1/Day).
When a creature attacks you in melee, as a reaction you can order the mimic to reveal its true form and bite. The attacker takes 1 piercing damage plus
1d4 acid damage , and its speed becomes 0 until the start of its next turn.
