Temptress' Veil

Wondrous Item

Legendary Desecration of Love

The Temptress' Veil bestows the following powers upon its wearer:
Aura of Allure:
While wearing the veil, you emit an aura that enhances your natural charm. All creatures within 30 feet that can see you must succeed on a DC 18 Wisdom saving throw or become charmed for 1 minute. While charmed:
  • The charmed creatures cannot attack you or target you with harmful effects.
  • They are compelled to assist or protect you.
  • A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success.
This ability can be used three times per long rest.
Enhanced Charisma:
While wearing the veil, your Charisma score increases by 4, up to a maximum of 24. You also gain proficiency in Charisma-based skill checks. If you are already proficient in any of these skills, you instead gain expertise (double proficiency bonus).
Irresistible Command:
As an action, you can speak a single-word command (like "Kneel," "Silence," "Obey," or "Sleep") that enchants those who hear it. All creatures of your choice within 60 feet that can hear you must make a DC 18 Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save:
  • The target is compelled to obey your command as if under the effect of the Command spell for 1 minute or until the creature takes damage.
  • The effect does not break if they take damage but ends when the duration expires.
This ability can be used twice per long rest.
Mesmerizing Gaze:
As a bonus action, you can lock eyes with a creature within 30 feet. The creature must succeed on a DC 18 Charisma saving throw or become paralyzed for 1 minute, overcome by your beauty and presence. While paralyzed in this way, the creature is aware but unable to act. The effect ends if the creature takes damage. This ability can be used three times per long rest.

Enhanced Properties (Post-Attunement)

When fully attuned to the Temptress' Veil, its influence becomes overwhelming. The following enhanced properties are added:
Queen of Desire:
The Aura of Allure increases to a 60-foot radius. Creatures that fail the saving throw become charmed for 10 minutes. While charmed, creatures view you as the most important figure in their life. They will obey your commands to the best of their ability, even if it goes against their nature. Additionally, creatures that fail the saving throw are unable to willingly leave the aura's range.
Compulsion of Perfection:
You radiate such perfection that even reality itself bends to your will. Whenever you make a Charisma check, you can roll with advantage. If the roll still fails, you can use this ability to automatically succeed. This ability can be used once per long rest.
Absolute Command:
When you use the Irresistible Command property, you may target up to 5 creatures within range instead of one. If a creature fails its save, it is compelled to follow your command for 1 minute, even if it is contrary to its nature. For example, a creature that is commanded to "Kneel" will remain kneeling for the entire duration.
Lure of Nudasi:
The veil gains the ability to compel deeper obsession. If a creature is charmed by the veil, they have disadvantage on saving throws against your abilities while charmed. If a creature fails three saving throws against your charm effects while wearing the veil, they become permanently obsessed with you, treating you as an object of divine worship. Only a Greater Restoration, Wish, or Divine Intervention can remove this obsession.

Special Ability - Veil of Temptation

Once per long rest, you can activate the full power of the Temptress' Veil, enveloping yourself in an ethereal aura of beauty, desire, and reverence. For 1 minute, you become the center of every creature’s attention. The effects are as follows:
  • All creatures of your choice within 60 feet must succeed on a DC 20 Wisdom saving throw or become charmed for the entire duration.
  • While charmed, creatures regard you as their one true love, master, or idol, treating you as the most important being in existence. This effect functions as the Dominate Person spell for 1 minute.
  • Creatures that succeed on the saving throw are instead frightened of you for 1 minute.
  • While this ability is active, all enemies that attempt to attack you must succeed on a DC 20 Wisdom saving throw or have their attacks automatically miss.
  • When the effect ends, you must make a DC 20 Constitution saving throw or suffer 4d10 psychic damage as the veil drains your vitality.

Curses

Consuming Vanity:
Each dawn, you must make a DC 18 Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save:
  • You become obsessed with your appearance and others' opinions of you.
  • You prioritize maintaining your beauty and seeking validation from others, even at the cost of more pressing goals.
  • While under this effect, you have disadvantage on Insight checks as you are blinded by your desire for perfection.

Fragile Ego:
If a creature succeeds on a saving throw against any of the veil’s charm effects, you suffer a psychic backlash, taking 3d10 psychic damage. You also have disadvantage on attack rolls, ability checks, and saving throws until the end of your next turn as your mind reels from the perceived rejection.
Curse of Nudasi:
Each time you use the Special Ability - Veil of Temptation, you risk binding yourself further to the will of Nudasi. After using this ability, you must make a DC 18 Charisma saving throw. On a failure, you develop an addiction to attention and affection, constantly seeking praise and validation. If you fail this saving throw three times, you become permanently cursed. The curse can only be removed by a Wish or Divine Intervention.

The Temptress' Veil is a gossamer-thin veil of shimmering crimson silk, adorned with delicate threads of gold and obsidian beads that dangle like forbidden fruit. It emits a soft, enticing glow that draws the eyes of all who behold it, compelling attention like moths to a flame. The silk moves as though alive, shifting subtly with every breath of the wearer, always framing their face in the most flattering light. Created by Nudasi, goddess of Lust, Addiction, and Temptation, the veil is both a symbol of seduction and a harbinger of obsession. Those who wear it command attention, devotion, and obsession in equal measure.
