Infernal Demon Plate of Damnation
Armor (Heavy)
Legendary Pact of Uztarr
The Infernal Demon Plate of Damnation grants the following properties to its wearer:
Demonic Flight:
While wearing the armor, the wearer gains a flying speed of 60 feet as demonic wings sprout from its back. The wings can be retracted or extended as a bonus action, and the wearer is immune to fall damage while they are active.
Strength of a Demon Lord:
The wearer’s Strength score increases to 26, unless their Strength is already higher. The wearer also gains advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws.
Infernal Fortitude:
The armor bolsters the wearer’s resilience. They gain resistance to fire and necrotic damage. Additionally, if the wearer is reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, they can instead drop to 1 hit point. This ability can be used once per long rest.
Hellish Smite:
Once per short rest, when the wearer hits with a melee weapon attack, they can choose to channel the power of the Nine Hells into the attack. The attack deals an additional 6d10 fire damage. If the target is a celestial or a creature aligned with good, it takes an additional 4d10 necrotic damage. This attack leaves a lingering infernal mark on the target, causing it to become vulnerable to fire damage for 1 minute.
Aura of Infernal Fear:
The armor exudes a 30-foot aura of dread. When a hostile creature enters the aura or starts its turn within it, it must make a DC 20 Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is frightened of the wearer for 1 minute. A frightened creature can repeat the save at the end of its turns, ending the effect on a success. This aura can be activated or suppressed as a bonus action.
Enhanced Properties (Post-Attunement)
Once attuned, the Infernal Demon Plate of Damnation grants greater power to its wearer:
Aura of Hellfire:
The Aura of Infernal Fear is enhanced. While active, all creatures that fail their saving throw against the aura also take 4d10 fire damage at the start of their turns.
Unyielding Vengeance:
The wearer gains the ability to cast Hellish Rebuke at 5th level three times per day without using a spell slot or components.
Demonic Resilience:
The wearer’s hit point maximum increases by 30 points, and they are no longer subject to exhaustion from environmental hazards. Additionally, they have resistance to radiant damage.
Champion of Uztarr:
The wearer is immune to the frightened and charmed conditions. If a creature attempts to charm or frighten them, the caster must make a DC 20 Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is instead frightened of the wearer for 1 minute.
Special Power - Infernal Transformation
Once per month, the wearer can invoke the full power of Uztarr and undergo a temporary transformation into a demonic champion of vengeance.
As an action, the wearer activates the Infernal Transformation, and for 1 minute, the following benefits occur:
- The wearer becomes immune to fire and necrotic damage.
- The wearer’s melee attacks deal an additional 4d10 necrotic damage.
- The wearer grows demonic claws, which count as natural weapons. They have a +10 to hit and deal 3d10 slashing damage.
- The Aura of Infernal Fear transforms into an Aura of Hellish Flames. All creatures within 30 feet take 5d10 fire damage at the start of their turn.
Backlash: After the transformation ends, the wearer gains three levels of exhaustion, and their maximum hit points are reduced by 20 until they finish a long rest.
Curses
Hellbound Curse:
Once attuned, the wearer cannot remove the armor unless a remove curse spell is cast on them. However, even if the spell succeeds, removing the armor causes the wearer to take 8d10 psychic damage and suffer one level of exhaustion.
Infernal Influence:
Each dawn, the wearer must make a DC 18 Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the wearer is compelled to act on aggressive or cruel impulses, often turning on allies or pursuing vengeance. If the wearer fails three consecutive saves, they become corrupted by Uztarr's influence, shifting their alignment toward evil.
Burning Vengeance:
The armor demands bloodshed. If the wearer does not deal damage to a living creature at least once every 24 hours, the armor punishes them. The wearer takes 5d10 fire damage as the armor's internal heat surges. Additionally, the wearer suffers from vivid nightmares of the Nine Hells, preventing them from benefiting from a long rest until they appease the armor’s hunger.
The Infernal Demon Plate of Damnation is a suit of blackened, infernal plate armor, its surface adorned with jagged spikes, blazing infernal runes, and cracks that glow with the searing light of the Nine Hells. The armor exudes a fiery, sulfuric heat, its presence alone evoking dread and terror. As the wearer attunes to it, demonic wings sprout from the back of the armor, granting them the ability to take flight like a true infernal knight. The armor pulses with infernal energy, empowering the wearer with the strength of a demon lord but at a terrible cost.
This armor is said to be the creation of Uztarr, the Archduke of Vengeance and Conquest, and those who don the armor are forever bound to his will. The armor whispers promises of power, dominance, and revenge, but it demands constant bloodshed to appease its hunger. Those who fail to satisfy its demands will suffer torment beyond imagination.
