Canopy Cottage
The Canopy Cottage is truly a one-of-a-kind inn that can be found nestled high in the treetops of Azuno's jungles. Owned by the gnome duo, Finn and Yara. This treehouse inn offers a refuge from the wilderness of the Azuno jungles but never stays in one place too long, as Finn and Yara enjoy a traveling lifestyle and dislike settling down in one place. In the inn, you are met and served by a small troupe of ringtail lemurs that were trained by Yara. About fifteen of these creatures, clothed in little vests and hats, leap and swing through the inn to serve the guests. Besides serving the guests, these lemurs also forage fresh ingredients for the kitchen, ensuring that each meal was fresh and local.
Traveling Treehouse
The inn roams the western fringes of the Empire of the Jade Eye, following a very loose seasonal schedule. Each new location brought a different view and a different experience for guests of the inn. Because the Canopy Cottage never stayed in one place too long it was designed in a way so that it could easily be disassembled and built up again. The whole inn could be taken apart in a matter of hours by Yara, Finn and the lemurs. Some parts can be shrunk through magical means, whilst others are designed to fold and be compacted in other ways. All the individual parts are then stored in a number of Bags of Holding which are carried by the couple and the lemurs as they walke to their next destination. After traveling to their new location, it then takes about half a day to rebuild the inn in a different tree, this is mainly because the inn always has to be configured slightly different because the branches and surroundings dictate the layout and specific order of construction for the inn.
A Cozy Refuge in the Trees
The Canopy cottage is not a large inn, only providing hospitality for the odd traveler that comes across it in the jungle. It is not a traditional inn, but is more so the home of Yara and Finn with some extra rooms for about ten to fifteen guests. For guests to enter the inn, a small platform can be lowered to the forest floor which takes them up to the entrance of the treehouse. When you enter, the common room welcomes you with its warmth and rustic charm. Here you can find a few guests gathering to share stories and tales of their travels. The small bar is always brimming with exotic concoctions as well as more traditional brews. For those seeking to stay the night, several guest rooms are available. Each of these rooms offers the comfort of hammocks, a small balcony with swinging chairs, and great view overlooking the canopies of the jungle.I never knew I could find such peace within the wilderness, so high above the jungle floor, softly falling asleep with the sounds of chittering lemurs and the whispers of the leaves.
