Void

There are spaces between the planes of existence where the light of the stars does not reach, chilling chasms of silence and forgotten despair. In the darkest places of these hollow infinities, The Void was born. Yet born is too gentle a word for such an abomination. The Void is not a place that was created; it is what was left behind. It is the absence of creation, a shadow of ruin and the graveyard of forgotten worlds.

Fractured Planes

The Void is not a single plane or place. Instead, it is a vast and fractured expanse made of countless floating shards, adrift and held together only by the suffocating darkness that surrounds them. These shards are the remains of planes and worlds that were once vibrant, places full of life, beauty, and divine purpose, now shattered and poisoned by chaos. Each shard is a broken ruin, unique in its torment, a monument to destruction and despair. The Void is infinite, with shards numbering beyond count.   These planar shards are the product of the great celestial war, a conflict as old as time itself. This eternal battle rages between angels and devils, forces locked in an endless struggle for the souls of mortals. Angels, beings of light and order, strive to guide mortal souls toward their divine purpose. Devils, once angels themselves but twisted by pride and tyranny, seek to claim those same souls for their dominion. The war between these forces is unrelenting and devastating. Entire planes of existence have been shattered in its wake, their destruction scattering fragments into the space between stars. These remnants did not simply disappear. Some fell into the Void, lingering in darkness, rotting, and twisting as the poison of chaos seeped into their very essence. Scholars whisper that the war between angels and devils will never end and that this world, too, may one day suffer the same fate. Its shattered remains could drift forever in the Void, joining the ruins of countless others as new horrors are born from the abyss.

Birthplace of Demons

When celestial or fiendish beings perished in battle and their remains fell into the Void, their forms became twisted and corrupted by its chaos. Just like the fragments of worlds, their broken bodies, minds and souls did not fade into nothingness; instead, they festered and became something new. From these remains, demons emerged, creatures of rage, hatred, and madness. Unlike their progenitors, demons have no divine purpose or order. They exist to destroy, to unmake, and to feed. The Arch Demons, the strongest among them, rule the shards of the Void, each a tyrant wishing to rule over all other beings in one way or another, bending reality to their will. In these twisted realms, the rules of nature, magic, and physics no longer hold steady.
To see a demon is to glimpse something that should not exist, a crack in the order of the universe itself.

Abyssal Threat

The Void destroys all order and meaning. Its only purpose is to unmake existence. The darkness between the stars is not empty; it waits. It whispers to the lost and broken, calling out to the mad, and tearing at the edges of other worlds. There are those who theorize that the Void itself is alive, that it hungers. As the shards and demonic legions grow and the Void stretches ever outward, many fear that it will eventually consume all worlds, pulling them into its darkness to linger as lightless fragments. If this is true, then the destruction of this world is not a matter of if, but when.
The Void does not destroy you. It changes you into what it wants, a blade of hatred, a vessel of pain, or a whisper of despair.
