Ostrun Fjord
The Ostrun Fjord is a relatively calm body of water on the eastern edge of Vjørsgard. The fjord itself carves deeply into the land, at times shallow, at times incredibly deep. In some places the fjord's floor is covered in a thick blanket of marine flora, while in others it is a jagged array of rocky outcrops and softer, sandy plains. As winter cloaks the land, the inner reaches of the fjord, where the waters are less salty, the fjord becomes covered in ice. This frozen flat landscape is in stark contrast with the surrounding cliffs and mountains, and provides a temporary bridge for land-bound creatures.
Fauna
The waters of the Ostrun Fjord are full of life. Schools of cod, mackerel, haddock, and various flatfish thrive here, integral to the diets of both the people and the creatures dwelling near the waters. Various types of colorful eels twist through the water and small subaquatic draconic creatures live in between the rocks and weeds in the depths. Where the fjord meets the Cobalt Divide, many more creatures and types of fish can be found. There are also legends and stories that speak of an ancient leviathan, a water elemental shaped like a gigantic serpent, that has made its home there.Flora
The underwater realm of the fjord is as vibrant with flora as it is with fauna. Eelgrass carpets the seabed, waving gently in the underwater currents, while bladderwrack clings to rocks and stretches towards the surface, forming underwater forests that sway with the rhythm of the tides. Near the rocky shores, Violin Reed sings with the winds, and the unique Season Crustose lichen adorns the stones, its hues shifting with the changing temperatures.
