Pholdorf

Pholdorf is a small village in the south-east of the Kingdom of Wolfsbrunn. The settlement lies in the only hospitable area between the fetid waters of the Calfert Marsh, the unrelenting Thelian Mountains and the arcane wasteland in the south of the Talvald. The original farms and homestead from which the village originated are believed to be built by the survivors of the War of the Towers, but the founding of the village proper was much later.

Resting Place

Pholdorf is a small and peaceful hamlet with only a little over a thousand permanent inhabitants. Although it is shorter to travel through the Talvald valley to the west, the Zilnean Road is a bit safer and allows for resupplying and resting in Pholdorf. Some become enraptured by the beauty of this place in contrast to the marshlands to the north or arid deserts to the south, and stay a while longer to enjoy the tranquility of the Pholdan Lakes and the village proper. In truth, Pholdorf is not well known for much else other than being a nice breath of fresh air for travelers.

Refreshing and Cleansing

Pholdorf is home to a number of inns and resting places, providing travelers and visitors with comfortable accommodations during their stay in the village. The largest (but still moderately sized) inn, the Golden Goose, is a popular choice for those seeking a luxurious stay. It features spacious rooms with comfortable beds, a tastefully decorated dining hall, and a cozy fireplace in the common room. One of the most popular places for travelers to visit and relax near Pholdorf, is the bathhouse on the outskirts of the village. Located near Lake Thelis, the bathhouse features a variety of baths and steambaths, as well as massage rooms and other amenities that help weary travelers to relax and unwind for a while in peace.
