Verrelatokian Bond Agreement

The Verrelatokian Bond Agreement is the document that new recruits of the Verrelatok sign to become a full member. It outlines the various rules and regulations that members of the Verrelatok comply with. The latest version of this contract has been written and designed by Cecilia Whitner.   The agreement is a binding contract which puts a person in service to the city of Rornach and the Duke of Rornach. It is signed at the base of the Verrelatok in Rornach where it also kept neatly archived by the administration of the Verrelatok.

The Agreement

This Verrelatokian Bond Agreement (from this point onward refered to as the “Agreement”) when signed is entered into as of ______, (the “Effective Date”) between the Verrelatok of Rornach (the “Verrelatok”) and ________. (the “Individual”) (collectively, the “Parties”). The Verrelatok requests the Individual to perform services and may request the Individualr to perform other services in the future. The Parties agree as follows:

1.0 - Term and Termination

1.1. This Agreement takes effect immediately as of the Effective Date, and remains in effect until the Individual is released from service by The Verrelatok, either through a request approved by the Duke of Rornach or as outlined in 1.2
  1.2 The Individual is released immediately from service under the following conditions: (i) Treason commited by the Individual against the city of Rornach and the Verrelatok and/or otherwise breaking the Juris Septem. (ii) Death (without resurrection) (iii) Corruption by any magical means including but not limited to undeath, mind control and/or actively practicing and abusing the dark arts of Necromancy or Hemomancy.

2.0. - Individual Services

2.1. As part of this agreement the Individual is allowed to accept any, task, bounty or contract as provided to the Verrelatok by the citizens of Rornach or the Council of Rornach. As such, the Verrelatok may also order the individual to carry out certain contracts if required or when the talents of the Individual are of great benefit to the task at hand. Any benefits stated in the contract(s) of these tasks and bounties are to be paid out to the Individual by the Verrelatok in full. The Individual has to wear at the very least an insignia of the Verrelatok of 10 by 10 centimeters visible on their person when performing tasks or contracts issued by or related to the Verrelatok.
  2.2 During the Term, the Verrelatok may order the Individual to provide the following services as needed (the "Services"). (i) Protecting the people of Rornach and its’ leaders. (ii) Aiding the city of Rornach in battle in any war or dispute between the lands of Rornach and its’ enemies. (iii) Providing aid and special care to the people of Rornach under special circumstances such as occurrences of wild magic, natural disasters, invasions, diseases etc.
  2.3. If the Individual has obtained, hired or taken on employees or allies of any kind (the "Individual's Personnel"), the Individual will be solely responsible for all equipments and costs associated with the Individual's Personnel. This stipulation also applies to any non-humanoids that are considered to be part of the Individual's Personnel
  2.4 As a result of providing the Services, the Individual or Individual Personnel may come into the possession of additional valuable goods such as silver and gold, jewels or magical objects (the "Profit").
  2.5. The Individual shall notify the administration of the Verrelatok of any change(s) to the Individual's schedule or wherabouts that could negatively affect the availability of the Individual, no later than 24 hours prior to such change(s). If the Indiviudal becomes aware of such change(s) within the 24 hour period, the Individual shall as soon as possible notify the Verrelatok of such change(s) within a reasonable amount of time. Traveling beyond the boundaries of the jurisdiction of the city of Rornach is to be reported to the administration of the Verrelatok. If the Individual is to leave the lands of Rornach it is expected they are to return as soon as permits if the city of Rornach requires the Services of the Individual.
  2.6. The work performed by the Individual shall be performed under individual contractual basis for payment.. Contracts may offer an additional incentive payment of 10 gold pieces for each hostile creature slain. Incentive payment requests must be accompanied by physical proof of the slaying, such as the slain creature's head. If the Individual encounters a creature with no discernable head, an alternative proof of slaying may be provided, at the discretion of the Verrelatok. An additional incentive payment of 25 gold pieces will be provided for the recovering of the body of any slain Verrelatok or deceased citizen of Rornach.
  2.7 A sum of 50 gold pieces shall be withheld from the first payment(s) to the Individual by the Verrelatok to pay for the recovery of the body of the Individual, and proper funerary rites according to their chosen deity’s custom, should the Individual perish within the borders of the lands of Rornach. Nevaria will be assumed as the deceased's deity of choice if no preference is indicated by the Individual prior to their demise.
  2.8. A deduction will be made from any payments made to the Individual to cover damages caused by the Individual to the property or employees of the Verrelatok and the citizens of Rornach, including but not limited to any animals buildings and people. Should this amount exceed the payment owed to the Individual they will be responsible for paying the difference within 1 month.
  2.9. The Verrelatok shall not be responsible for fines or taxes derived from the Individual's income or for the payment of any tithes, royal taxes, guild fees, or other legal requirements applicable to the Individual.

3.0 - Ownership

3.1. The Parties agree that any Profit gained during the Term within the boundaries of the lands of Rornach is to be reported to the Verrelatok first and be assessed whether it belongs to any citizen of the lands of Rornach. It is considered theft under the Juris Septem (1.2 i) to steal or take ownership over the belongings of the people of Rornach.

4.0 - Benefits

The Individual is allowed to use equipment of the Verrelatok. This equipment may only be used inside the boundaries of the lands of Rornach unless the situation calls for it or a request has been filed and signed off by the administration of the Verrelatok. The borrowed items will be kept on record, if the equipment is taken outside of the boundaries of the lands of Rornach without permission the action is considered theft and treason against the Verrelatok (1.2 i). (Individual's Personnel is not allowed to use any equipment by the Verrelatok).

5.0 - Representation

By signing this document, both Parties represent that they are fully authorized, able and empowered to enter into this Agreement, and that in entering the agreement they will not violate any oath or agreement between any other person, guild or organization.

6.0 - Indemnification

The Individual shall indemnify and hold the Verrelatok and city of Rornach harmless from any and all claims, actions, suits, procedures, costs, expenses, damages and liabilities, including fees, arising out the involvement in the Services. Including claims pertaining to any injury, be it Physical, Magical, Mental, Spiritual or any other type, sustained by the Individual or the Individual's Personnel.

7.0 - Confidential Information.

Each Party agrees to hold and treat all confidential information of the other Party, including, but not limited to, trade and/or arcane secrets, contract information, names, and any other information that the receiving Party reasonably should consider as confidential information and protect this information with the same degree of care as they would protect their own confidential information.

8.0. Liability.

The individual shall not be liable to the Verrelatok for any damages arising from or related to this agreement. Including indirect, incidental, punitive and/or consequential damages as well as bodily injury, disfigurement, mental harm, derangement anguish, divine intervention, infernal possession, death, undeath, loss of wealth, profits or property.     The Parties are signing this Agreement on the date stated in the introductory clause.
