Academy of Nature

The fourth Imperial Academy of the Empire of the Jade Eye is the Academy of Nature. It was founded shortly after the Academy of Prosperity, when the empire grew into the jungles of Azuno and required a deeper understanding of the natural world, health of its citizens and production of food. Like the other academies, it is situated in the Imperial Iris in the capitol of Rhajada, but distinctive for the Academy of Nature are its many facilities, outposts and expeditions throughout the empire and near its borders. The Academy of Nature focuses on four areas: Health, Zoology, Botany, and Environment, each playing a vital role in understanding and protecting the natural balance of the empire.   Health. The Faculty of Health is dedicated to the study and advancement of medical knowledge and practices. Here, scholars and aspiring healers delve into the complexities of the human body, exploring both traditional healing methods and modern medical techniques. This faculty provides the next generation of doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals, committed to maintaining and improving the health and well-being of the empire's citizens. The curriculum includes anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and various medical sciences, ensuring a holistic approach to healthcare. However, use of magic for healing purposes is highly debated within the faculty due to the empire's stance on use of magic, and regenerative and cleansing magic is not commonly practiced out of general fear for the arcane. The faculty has a hospital ward within the main building of the academy in the imperial iris, but also has multiple facilities throughout the empire to provide its services to the citizens of the empire.   Zoology. The Faculty of Zoology is a hub of research and learning about animals and creatures found in Azuno and the rest of the world. Scholars engage in the study of diverse species, their behaviors, habitats, and the roles they play in the ecosystem. The faculty emphasizes both theoretical knowledge and practical fieldwork, so that scholars can develop a deep understanding of their field of study. This can range from wildlife conservation, animal biology, and ecological balance as well as livestock and the practice of animal husbandry. Scholars from this faculty contribute to wildlife research, conservation efforts, and the sustainable management of the empire's rich biodiversity. This is of great importance as many dangers lurk inside the jungle that could endanger the safety of the empire if disturbed.   Botany. In the verdant greenhouses, gardens and laboratories of the Faculty of Botany, the intricate world of plants is explored and researched. This faculty focuses on the study of plant life, encompassing aspects such as plant physiology, taxonomy, and the relationship between plants and their environment. There are still many species of plants within the jungles of Azuno that have yet to be discovered. Scholars teach and learn about the vital role of plants in ecological systems, agriculture, and medicine. The faculty has been instrument in the advancement of sustainable agricultural practices, and preserving and furthering the empire's diverse flora.   Environment. The Faculty of Environment is dedicated to understanding and protecting the natural environment and weather conditions. It concerns itself with the challenges of environmental conservation, sustainability, as well as climates, seasonal changes and weather patterns. Additionally, the curriculum covers a range of topics, including ecology, environmental policy, and sustainable resource management. This faculty plays a crucial role in shaping environmental stewards and policymakers, who work to ensure that the empire's natural resources are used responsibly and that its ecosystems are preserved for future generations. This faculty collaborates with the Academy of Prosperity to ensure that the efforts made by that economy remain sustainable to an extent.
