Lena Zhovao

Lena Zhovao is a visionary researcher and Riftmender hailing from Rhajada, the capital of the Empire of the Jade Eye. She earned her renown for groundbreaking innovations in endo-arcanic Magitech devices that use the innate arcane energies in Dimensional Fractures to close them. Her creations, known as "Rift Sealers" have become invaluable in protecting the capital of the empire from the dangers of dimensional rifts.

Prodigy of Magitech

Her journey as a magitech innovator began in her early years within the grand halls of the Jade Eye's imperial academy.She had a natural talent and aptitude for understanding the intricate interplay of magic and technology of the then quite simplistic forms of magitech that the empire had developed. Her insatiable curiosity and natural talent caught the attention of her mentors, who recognized her potential to revolutionize the field of magitech. She quickly rose to be a leader in her field, and soon after, Lena Zhovao came into the direct service of The Jade Eye. Under the Jade Eye's guidance and support, Lena's innovations were given a platform to flourish, allowing her to push the boundaries of magitech and contribute significantly to the Empire's strength and security.

Further Research

The devices Lena has developed have been able to protect the capital, but attempts at creating larger systems of protection have not been successful. Because of this, Lena has made it her mission to uncover the secrets of the Okadorn people who according to legend were able to build massive magitech systems and structures. After researching all information available about this culture, she eventually embarked on a number of expeditions to the island of Sonvahar. During her expeditions, Lena encountered remnants of ancient enchantments used by the Okadorn in their magitech engineering as well as a number of arcane anomalies which the origins of which still remain a mystery. These finds served as crucial pieces in expanding her knowledge of ancient magics and unlocking new potential for her own magitech creations.

Disappearance.

Although she initially meant to uncover magitech artifacts for the empire, she returned many times to the island to unravel the mysteries of the island's wild magic and untamed jungles. The wild magic and wilderness of the island had piqued her curiosity and compelled her to delve deeper into its secrets, even though the empire had not sanctioned this research. As the years passed, Lena Zhovao's bond with Sonvahar grew ever stronger, and the mysteries of the island became an inseparable part of her being. Eventually, she made the decision to remain there permanently. She sent a letter (now commonly known as the Zhovao Statement of Secession) to The Jade Eye. Whether she eventually got lost in the depths of the jungle on the the island, or managed to settle there to immerse herself in its arcane wonders remains a point of discussion.
