At a glamorous charity event in Copenhagen to protect the oceans, a physicist vanishes without a trace, and a cold night filled with sponsors, surveillance and polite lies turns into a race for a technology capable of disrupting time and causality itself. Whilst Ilya Rozanow unwittingly becomes the bearer of a dangerous secret, Dr Claudia Tiedemann and Anya Amasowa realise that beneath the ice, glass and luxury, something far greater has long been at work. Between the harbour hotel, the laboratory and the underground car park, rivalry, desire and power are drawn into the same icy vortex – and in the end, only a few cold minutes remain in which it can still be decided what will vanish from Copenhagen: a prototype, a truth or whole chunks of reality.
